Our Programs
Mosaic offers two ways for international students to experience education and life in Canada.
Short-Term Canadian Experience Program
Our customized group programs range from 10 days to four weeks and are based in Calgary and the Canadian Rockies, including Banff.
Programs are available throughout the year, allowing students to experience a different side of Canada in every season. Options may include winter experiences, spring and fall programs, summer programs and a signature Calgary Stampede experience.
Each program is developed in consultation with the international agent or school. Depending on the group, the program may combine education, cultural immersion, outdoor activities, Canadian family life, practical English and opportunities to connect with local youth.
These are not fixed itineraries. The length, activities and educational components are selected around the students and the goals of the international partner.
Semester and Full-Year Programs
Mosaic also works with international agents to place students in semester and full-year programs with Canadian school divisions.
We help our partners understand the available options, identify a program suited to the student and navigate the placement process. This gives agents a Canadian contact who understands the school system and the expectations of international students and their families.
The MOSAIC Experience
The idea behind Mosaic becomes part of how students experience the program.
Each student arrives with their own culture, personality, strengths and experiences. Rather than allowing students to remain only with the friends they already know, the program creates opportunities for them to connect with different people and discover what each person brings to the group.
Small Student Pods
During the program, students spend time in small pods of approximately five or six. The pods change at planned points so students can work with different people instead of remaining in the same group throughout their stay.
The smaller setting makes it easier for students to participate, practice English and get to know one another. Pod activities encourage communication, teamwork, independence and interaction with Canadian youth, families and communities.
As the pods change, students begin to see how different combinations of people create different strengths, much like rearranging the individual pieces of a mosaic.
The MOSAIC Event
Every short-term program builds toward the Mosaic Event, a signature experience held at the end of the students’ time in Canada.
The event begins with the Mosaic Challenge. Students complete activities involving communication, navigation, Canadian knowledge, creativity, problem-solving and physical participation. The activities allow students to use the relationships and skills they have developed throughout the program.
The challenge is not designed around one team winning while everyone else loses. Like completing a marathon, the achievement comes from participating, working through the challenges and reaching the finish.
The event then brings everyone together to share a meal, revisit favourite moments and recognize what the students have accomplished.
Each student personalizes a tile and adds it to a physical Mosaic that grows with every program. Every tile remains individual, but together they tell the story of all the students, cultures and experiences that have become part of Mosaic International.
